About Refresh Software
In 1996 Refresh Software began as a small Web site development services company, with a solid reputation for a high quality technical staff. In 2006, Refresh saw an emerging opportunity which was developing with many of our base customers. Given the pure services nature of the business and the very different product business we were about to embark on the company decided a restart was the optimal way forward. The new direction was to become a software product and services provider, developing a complete Java-based Web Content Management System utilizing the power of a decoupled architecture and an object oriented design paradigm..
The new generation SR2 product provides all the necessary component-based architecture including Web Services and APIs to support a larger, yet more sophisticated base of enterprise clients which demand the scalability to support millions of content assets. The architecture design contains a fully featured highly scalable java-based product with a very small footprint and is surrounded by powerful Web Services and API's that allow it to drop simply into the most complex infrastructures. This same small footprint modular architecture allowed Refresh to sell in to smaller fast growing companies whose infrastructure demands would change as rapidly as they grew solving yet another marketing challenge.
The target market are the Fortune 2000 clients who have invested large sums in prior generations of competitive Content Management Systems - most of which provide large cumbersome monolithic outdated designed products. Those large products were a result of the competition rush to create add-on functionality by simply adding on tightly integrated feature modules to the base component in order to increase sales and provide the features required by the Fortune 2000 clients. The resultant architecture provided more and more features and was more and more costly - which was the requirement for the product company's desire to grow. The downside for the client is that each of these now behemoth products became less and less agile with each addition which is in direct contrast to the client's ever increasing need for rapid infrastructure agility.
The base business model for our competitors in a typical installation, who are priced at more than 5x our product, is a 30/70 model with 30% being the product and 70% of a typical installation being the very large amount of services required to install them. Refresh Software's SR2 at 1/5th of the base price to start, is a 70/30 model where our dramatically less expensive product requires only 30% additional services for a typical installation - all of which results in huge customer savings. SR2 is usually complete in a matter of a few months as opposed to competitors who are usually implemented in excess of a year. Therefore, savings are not only found in the lower cost of the product vendor, but also in the time it actually takes to implement and receive the benefits associated with the installation.
In May 2008, as Refresh evaluated the base success of SR2, and having done a good deal of research into the market, we continue to see the potential for SR2, which given its feature set, its scalability and its huge price performance advantage, is the right product at the right time. Customers are choosing SR2 in these tight economic times because of the tremendous flexibility it provides to IT and the huge savings it provides while increasing the functionality that users need. Fortune 2000 clients have multiple Web Content Management Systems and many are now turning to Refresh Software's SR2 due to its tremendous advantages.
