Regain control over the Web properties
The American Institute of Architects had purchased a brand name portal software product with "built in" content management for the management of AIA's Web properties in order to deliver personalized content to the appropriate audiences at the appropriate time. Unfortunately, the portal framework was too complicated to fully implement and manage for the IT staff. The content management module in the portal was not user friendly enough for the content creators and managers.
AIA needed to simplify its architecture in order to obtain success on their multi-Web property initiative. The portal product was eliminated in favor of SR2's customer-friendly Open Publishing System, and metadata driven personalization capabilities. The revamped initiative made sense for AIA because it leveraged SR2 Applications and Content Domains which meant real savings for AIA in comparison to traditional URL pricing schemes offered by CMS vendors. AIA solved all of its core infrastructure issues by leveraging their existing ColdFusion Web application expertise in combination with the SR2 Tool which AIA used to enforce the specific IA, process, and delivery standards.
